Sto-Fen OM-EZ - Flash diffuser for the Sony HVL-F60M - Canon

Another accessory that was expected from Sony, but we are always waiting for it :o)

So, as Sony didn't produced it, so Sto-Fen did, and it did it right !

Technical Notes: The flash use was the Vivitar 283 mounted on the hot shoe of the camera. The camera was on a tripod to maintain distance and position. The film used was 100 ISO Color negative. The lens used on a Nikon FE-2 was the 16mm f/2.8 Nikon full frame fisheye, (Which accounts for the curvature of the image) that allows the true effect of the straight on flash to be seen. The room is 30 feet wide and the Flash & Camera were ten feet from the fireplace. Both shots were made with the Vivitar set on the Red Auto Mode at f/4. The OMNI shot had the flash head tilted to 45°

So, how it works ?

• Flash with the Omni-Bounce installed and tilted to 45 degrees gives a nice soft wrap around of light with a soft shadow behind the subject.
• Flash straight on without the Omni-Bounce causes the light to go forward only and creates a harsh shadow behind the subject.
